Museveni and Peter

Peter Greenberg, the man who produced ‘Tanzania: The Royal Tour,’ travel documentary is back again in East Africa.

This time Peter lands in the lush-green Uganda ready to give the world a taste of the ‘Pearl of Africa!’

A sneak peek to the forthcoming travel adventure Titled ‘Hidden Uganda,’ is a one-hour special hosted by the News Travel Editor Peter Greenberg.

Filmed under the “Hidden” series, this is the first such program to be aired on the African continent, according to EPS Executive Program Services.

Adventures in the Ugandan series include chowing down on street food in Entebbe, rafting down the Nile River, gorilla trekking, visiting banana and coffee farms, and training with a local baseball team.

Of course, Uganda’s trademark Ankole cattle with their skyscraping horns are also making a cameo appearance.

“Get ready for a journey into the heart of Africa, to a place most people have never experienced, as we navigate a country where old rhythms live on, and ancient instruments create modern sounds…

“… It is a land of secluded wonders, and endless bounties, all waiting to be discovered by the outside world…

… Here’s a sneak peek of HIDDEN UGANDA, which debuts on public television in February. Check your local listings,” this is how Peter introduces the forthcoming travel documentary feature.

The intro to the movie trailer is as spellbinding as they come. Rapid waterfalls, thick jungles, assorted wildlife with the narrator chanting;

“Deep into the heart of Africa … To a place, most people have never experienced … I’m Peter Greenberg and join me as we navigate a country where old rhythms live on while ancient instruments create modern sounds.

“… It is a land of distant wonders and the promise of endless bounties … And all still waiting to be discovered. Welcome to ‘the hidden Uganda!”

This is the third time that Peter Greenberg, known as ‘The Travel Detective,’ is making a tourism-oriented documentary in the East African Region.

The first outing was in Rwanda, in 2028, when he made the ‘Royal Tour,’ with the country’s President, Paul Kagame, as the guide.

Later, in 2021, Greenberg landed in Tanzania where he produced and hosted another ‘Royal Tour,’ program this time featuring the country’s President, Samia Suluhu Hassan as the travel guide.

The Tanzanian version was the sixth Royal Tour after the ones filmed in Mexico, Ecuador, Israel, Rwanda and Poland.

It is not known yet if ‘Hidden Uganda,’ will feature the country’s head of state, President Yoweri Museveni or not when it gets released to the public in February 2025.

Aged 75, Peter S. Greenberg is an American journalist currently working as the CBS News Travel Editor, reporting regularly on The Early Show, its replacement CBS This Morning, and the CBS Evening News.
