Mahathi Oil

The Kenya Cabinet secretary on Energy and Petroleum has expressed optimism that the installation of Mahathi infrastructure Uganda Ltd an oil storage facility in Entebbe is certainly like to promote intra-industry trade between Kenya and Uganda.

He noted that the installation of the fuel storage facility is a significant investment that will complement the oil investment at Kisumu oil jetty.

David Chirchir remarked this during an inspection tour at Mahathi infrastructure Uganda Ltd, a storage facility with 14 storage fuel tanks & storage capacity of 72 million liters. Davis, who is the Kenyan cabinet secretary on Energy and petroleum, told the media in Entebbe that Kenya Pipeline Company has agreed to facilitate the shipment of oil products from Kisumu port to Mahathi infrastructure Uganda Ltd, as a way of promoting intra-industry trade among East Africa member states. We shall encourage the oil market industries to use Mahathi infrastructure Uganda Ltd.

Chirchir noted that Kenya is committed to supporting Uganda in its pursuit to supply oil product within Uganda and the neighboring countries. Last Friday, Mahathi infrastructure Uganda Ltd shipped in 4.5 million liters of oil products using Kisumu port.

Capt. Mike Mukula, the chairperson of Mahathi infrastructure Uganda Ltd, said by Kenya allowing Uganda to ship its oil products through Kisumu port, this would promote common trade between the two countries.
