Kenya has tightened its security at the mall after four empty ammunition boxes were found at the basement of Nakumatt Junction on Monday afternoon.

The boxes are suspected to hold 9mm calibre bullets that are commonly used in ceska pistols or MP5 machine guns.

Attendants at the supermarket suspect the boxes to have been there since Sunday evening.

Police have not established the whereabouts of the bullets that were emptied from the boxes.

Police commandant Benson Kibue has said that security within the city has been beefed up.

This finding comes a day after gunmen opened fire in a church killing six and wounding scores.
